This diptych comprised of two shaped canvases, one fitting inside the other, explores the otherworldly feeling of moonlit nighttime, faraway cities and layers of atmosphere, and the way one feeling or sense can flood into another.
Michael Ross was born in the wild lakelands of Commerce Township, Michigan in 1974, lived for a while in the desert green hotspring mountains of New Mexico, eventually went to school at Oakland University, and has been painting at 333 Midland in Highland Park for the past 10 years. He is a painter, a muralist, a curator and an arts council member in his adopted home town of Pleasant Ridge, Michigan.
