“Learn to Fly” captures a tender moment of growth and connection. One origami crane rests in a textured, abstract nest while another floats toward it, embodying themes of guidance, courage, and becoming. Soft magnolia buds bloom in the background—symbols of hope and renewal—set against a predominantly soft green palette with coral accents that add warmth and energy. Megan Lui is a mixed media artist based in the Detroit area, who works with acrylic paint, spray paint, and ink on canvas, while using modeling paste and collage paper to create texture. Using natural forms against geometric abstraction, her work finds the structure within chaos. Through texture, form, and vivid color, her paintings are surreal observations of our modern existence.
Megan has a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University. She has exhibited throughout metro Detroit and in Toronto, with paintings in private collections internationally.
