Description & Details
I had quite a bit of fun on this one as it harkens back to the late 1980s when I was working my way through school at a country club. To me it was completely wild like the movie Caddyshack. I had to wear a green tuxedo. I mean I literally matched the golf course to blend in and "be unseen". The bartenders were our saviors back in those days always pouring staffers shot after shot during service. This naturally led to quite a few food and wine related accidents as well as a certain amount of additional, unrelated mischief, but hey, that's all past comedy now! Besides, it was pre-internet, so we all had to entertain ourselves somehow! Either way, from the pose to the outfit this figure is absolute 1980s country club gold, and I'm reminiscing of my lovely, misspent of youth in a green tuxedo!
About the Artist: Jon Parlangeli

I relish the fact that there are no straight paths through the creative process. It’s never just a decision of the red pill or the blue pill, so I've blissfully spent years of studio time exploring mediums and methods of conveyance...all of which opine to the space between real and abstract. Standing over such processes is my chosen artistic signature, color. Born partially color blind I use color as a weapon of indelicacy often pushing beyond subtle yet achieving a cosmopolitan of sublime.
I grew up in and around Detroit, eventually attending and graduating from Wayne State University in 1994 with a BFA in painting. There, under the watchful eye of Detroit figures such as Peter Williams, Tom Parrish and Michal Luchs, I absorbed a true culture of artistry and independence that continues to inspire my work today.
My works have been shown in the US and internationally and have been placed within corporate and private collections throughout the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
