Golden Magnolia Girl 2 by Lisa Farris
Lisa Farris Ceramics 14" x 54" x 14"Final Price
Description & Details
I created this series of Leaf Totems right before going to graduate school for my MFA in Ceramics. I was interested in ideas of excess and abundance and curious about the mimicry between man and nature. I see this work as figurative and imagine it placed in domestic spaces: A tree-like, humanish form that bears witness to the worlds inside our homes.
About the Artist: Lisa Farris

Lisa Farris has been working in Ceramics for many years, but it’s only recently that she’s been able to approach her practice in a more serious manner. In 2021, she was awarded an artist’s residency at the Hambidge Center in Rabun, Georgia. The intensity and joy of that experience, along with an empty nest, inspired Farris to earn her MFA In Ceramics at Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2024. Farris’s practice focuses on the strange seamlessness between human beings and the natural world. She sees her research and her making as an act of reconnecting with herself, finding the fearless girl who lived so fully in sync with nature and with her own creativity. In turn, her work is infused with world-building and joy.
